Huawei's alternative operating system to Android may be called Ark OS: Report

Since US President Donal Trump's executive order to ban Huawei in the country, several companies cut ties with Huawei. First Google announced that it will  revoke Android license  from the company, then  German chipmaker Infineon suspended shipments to Huawei , soon after  ARM employees were instructed to suspend business with Huawei , and then  Microsoft took down Huawei laptops from its store . Intel, Qualcomm, and  SD Association  have also suspended their business with the company. Meaning, if Huawei wanted to continue to be the  second largest smartphone maker in the world , or even remain in the industry, it needs to sustain itself. In order to do that, with the Android license revoked, last week, Huawei said that it could roll out its own operating system for smartphones and laptops in China. The new OS was believed to be announced this autumn, and we already see the plan coming along. The Huawei P30 Pro. Image: Omkar Godambe Per  a report by  Android Headline

Mi Band 4 leak confirms the colored display, bigger battery and Bluetooth 5.0 and more

Xiaomi is the world’s second largest wearable maker around the globe after Apple. The Chinese electronics maker shipped more than 10 million Mi Band 3 units in less than seven months since its launch. Xiaomi is continually improving its portfolio and is now expected to launch the fourth generation Mi Band soon. Various leaks and reports have already revealed most of its specifications and features. It recently appeared on Bluetooth SIG uncovering almost every hardware detail. Now a few more details have emerged in a new leak. According to the leak, Mi Band 4 will ditch the monochrome display and will come with a colored screen featuring more attractive UI. To withstand the colored display power requirements, Mi Band 4 will see a 135 mAh battery instead of 110 mAh on  Mi Band 3 . The new fitness band will come with Bluetooth 5.0 for improved connectivity across multiple devices. It is a significant upgrade over the Mi Band 3 which uses Bluetooth 4.2. New leak reveals Apple’s final iPhone 11 Max design, and it’s much better than we thought

We still have almost five months left to wait before Apple unveils the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R, or whatever the company ends up calling its iPhone XR successor. That’s quite a long time — nearly half a smartphone generation — but so many details surrounding the new iPhones have already leaked. Much of what we know can be attributed to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who remains the top Apple insider in the world. Kuo is plugged into Apple’s supply chain and shares all sorts of early details with his clients. He also shares them with a few Apple blogs, so we all know what to expect long before Apple releases new iPhones each year. According to Kuo, the iPhone 11 series will feature a huge camera upgrade for both the iPhone 11 and 11 Max, while the iPhone 11R will be bumped up from a single-lens rear camera to a dual-lens cam. He also says Apple’s new iPhones will have new frosted glass backs and a few more subtle design changes. Of course, Ku

Developers can now verify mobile app users over WhatsApp instead of SMS

Facebook today released a new SDK that allows mobile app developers to integrate WhatsApp verification into Account Kit for iOS and Android. This will allow developers to build apps where users can opt to receive their verification codes through the WhatsApp app installed on their phone instead of through SMS. Today, many apps give users the ability to sign up using only a phone number — a now popular alternative to Facebook Login, thanks to the social network’s numerous privacy scandals that led to fewer people choosing to use Facebook with third-party apps. Plus, using phone numbers to sign up is common with a younger generation of users who don’t have Facebook accounts — and sometimes barely use email, except for joining apps and services. When using a phone number to sign in, it’s common for the app to confirm the user by sending a verification code over SMS to the number provided. The user then enters that code to create their account. This process can also be used when

Facebook Dating Now Lets You Connect With Your “Secret Crush”

Facebook Dating app would now help users explore potential romantic relationships within their own extended circle of friends. The new feature is called “Secret Crush” where the users can select up to nine Facebook friends who they want to express interest in. “If your crush has opted into Facebook Dating, they will get a notification saying that someone has a crush on them. If your crush adds you to their Secret Crush list, it’s a match!” the social media giant announced during its annual ‘F8’ conference in San Jose, California on Tuesday. “If your crush isn’t on Dating, doesn’t create a Secret Crush list, or doesn’t put you on their list, no one will know that you’ve entered a friend’s name,” the company added. On Facebook Dating, you can opt in to discover potential matches within your own Facebook communities: events, groups, friends of friends and more. Currently available in Colombia, Thailand, Canada, Argentina and Mexico, Facebook Dating has been expanded to
