Reliancerecently launched the successor to the  Jio Phone , the Jio Phone 2 in India. The latest variant in the feature phone segment comes with one upgrade, i.e. a QWERTY keypad. Additionally, this phone also comes with WhatsApp support. However, it must be noted that the app will become available for the Jio Phone users on August 15, 2018, via Jio app store. Just like the Jio Phone, the Jio Phone 2 is also being pitted against Nokia’s banana-shaped 4G feature phone, the Nokia 8110 4G. Reliance JioPhone  could soon be getting WhatsApp support according to a report by WaBetaInfo. WhatsApp would be the next major app to hit JioPhone users after Facebook was rolled out last month. “Important references about the development of a new native KaiOS app had been found in the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone 2.18.38, indicating the presence of a new platform that can be connected to WhatsApp servers,” the report states. Jio Phone users will get unlimited voice calls, 1GB 4G data at Rs. 49 Reliance Jio has also launched new data add-ons for Jio Phone subscribers Jio Phone is claimed to be the top-selling feature phone in Q4 2017 Reliance Jio on Thursday announced that Jio Phone users can now avail unlimited voice calls and 1GB 4G data for 28 days at a charge of Rs. 49 as part of its Republic Day 2018 promotions. The telco has also launched data add-ons specifically for Jio Phone at Rs. 11, Rs. 21, Rs. 51, and Rs. 101. The feature phone was launched back in last July with services such as JioMusic, JioTV, and JioCinema.
