HIGHLIGHTS

  • Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is available for purchase through AliExpress
  • The site has listed two variants of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone
  • It also confirms the price of the handset

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has gone up for sale via a third-party e-commerce listing ahead of its official launch. Notably, the new development comes ahead of the formal launch of the Mi A2 that is likely to accompany its lighter and cheaper version and expected to debut in Spain on July 24. The Lite version is on sale on China's AliExpress in two variants - one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage at $189.99 (approximately Rs. 13,000) and the other one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage at $209.99 (roughly Rs. 14,400). The same model was spotted in Poland last week with a price of PLN 999 (roughly Rs. 18,600). This suggests that the official price of the Mi A2 Lite could be cheaper than speculated.
Alongside highlighting the price, the AliExpress listing details the key specifications of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite that had initially received certifications in China and Singapore with model number M1805D1. The third-party e-commerce listing shows it to run dual-SIM (Nano) Mi A2 Lite runs Android 8.1 Oreo - based on Google's Android One programme - and features a 5.84-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is seen to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). On the imaging front, a vertically-placed dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor - powered by artificial intelligence based AI Portrait mode and AI Beauty feature are listed. The handset is listed to sport a 5-megapixel sensor on the front with a Smart Beauty feature.

Samsung's foldable phone is real and opens into a tablet

Samsung on Wednesday gave the first glimpse of its upcoming foldable phone, saying it'll be mass produced "in the coming months." Justin Denison, Samsung senior vice president of mobile marketing, showed off the phone, which is a tablet when it's fully opened and then a phone when it's closed. It uses a new display technology called Infinity Flex Display that lets you open and close the device over and over without any degradation. "The Infinity Flex Display represents an entirely new mobile platform," Denison said. "We've been living in a world where the size of your screen can only be as large as the device itself. We've added a new dimension to help you browse, watch and multitask like never before." The device he showed isn't the final product. It's likely the phone Samsung releases will be sleeker and have smaller bezels than the device Denison showed. "The success or failure of Samsung's first folding ...

Huawei Employee Reportedly Reveals Android P Name, And It’s Not What You Think

It’s that time of the year when the world speculates on which dessert will be used as the name for the next Android version. While there have been several easter eggs and hints about Android P’s official name, there’s no clarity on what it might actually be called. According a report by   Tabeltowo , a Huawei employee might have just leaked the full name of Android P as Android Pistachio. During a live chat with a customer, the Huawei support staff clearly said Android Pistachio in relation to a query about software updates in Poland, as seen in the image below: While simply Pistachio might not make sense to most people, considering the fact that Google is known for naming its Android version after desserts, a previous report might help. Back in February,  Bloomberg had reported  that Android P would be called Android Pistachio Ice Cream which makes more sense than just Pistachio. But we are sure you have other P-themed desserts in mind for...
