Samsung smartphone with four cameras coming this year

Samsung may be readying a device with four cameras on the back and it won't be a Galaxy Note nor a Galaxy S (nor the foldable Galaxy F) phone. The information comes from Twitter user and popular leakster Ice universe.

In his tweet Ice universe makes clear we're talking about a device that will launch in 2018 with four cameras, although no details were provided.

So, what could it be? If we had to guess we would take a pick among Samsung's A series and say that it could be a Galaxy A9 device for 2019 - those typically launch at the end of previous year. Since the current A-series have dual front cameras it's not hard to imagine that the next gen will also pack dual rear ones as they often inherit Galaxy S flagship features.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S9 next month

Samsung will unveil its next flagship handset, the Galaxy S9, next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC). The company’s smartphone chief, DJ Koh, confirmed the launch to ZDNet at CES yesterday. Koh didn’t offer a specific date, but MWC will run from February 26th to March 1st this year, so expect the unveiling to fall somewhere in that time frame. The S9 (and, presumably, an S9 Plus) will be the successors to the S8 and S8 Plus, which launched at a Samsung event in New York last March before going on sale in April. The S8 and its bigger brother were a hit with critics, who praised the phones’ gorgeous design and brilliant cameras. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite gets certified

Xiaomi phones have been frequently popping up on TENAA and other regulatory websites lately. The latest bit of info comes from the FCC, where Xiaomi devices got approved, and the same model numbers popped at Singapore’s Communications Authority. The more interesting part is that under “Marketing Name”, the Xiaomi M1805D1SG is listed as Mi A2 Lite, suggesting the arrival of a cheaper Mi A2. The listings reveal only technical details like bands and frequencies for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, but they come just in time for a follow-up of the Xiaomi Mi 6X announcement last month.
