Camera comparison: Huawei P30 Pro vs S10+, iPhone XS, Pixel 3, Mi 9, Mate 20 Pro

Huawei's been bringing us some of the most meaningful camera innovations in smartphones over the past few years, experimenting with monochrome modules, image stacking, and night mode, off the top of our heads. The Huawei P30 Pro is now official and it's got a new trick up its sleeve - a periscope telephoto camera. We've had the chances to review the P30 Pro and you can read all of our findings in the in-depth review here. But the novel camera tech prompted us to do a more in-depth comparison against the other big names on the market. While at it, we figured we shouldn't limit ourselves just to zoomed in shots, because let's face it <br /> - no other phone has a 5x zoom camera. Hence, this shootout. The lineup for this comparison includes the Samsung Galaxy S10+, which comes with an ultra wide camera, and it's wider than the P30 Pro's but lacks autofocus. As is very much the norm (which Huawei aims to break), the Galaxy's telephoto

Apple announces Apple TV Plus video subscription service

After years of speculation and on-again, off-again rumors, Apple has finally unveiled its biggest push into streaming video: Apple TV Plus. CEO Tim Cook just announced the service — featuring Apple’s original programming — alongside a redesigned, more advanced Apple TV app at the Steve Jobs Theater. “As you can tell, today is going to be a very different kind of event,” Cook said to kick things off. The introduction of Apple TV Plus, which the company says will become “the new home for the world’s most creative storytellers featuring exclusive original shows, movies and documentaries” was led by a video featuring Hollywood director Steven Spielberg and stars attached to the shows that will help shape Apple’s service. Spielberg said that he will be resurrecting the 93-year-old Amazing Stories brand for Apple TV Plus. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell then took the stage to discuss another Apple original called The Morning Show. The parade of celebrities

Apple announces Apple Card credit card and you should know everything about this

At Apple ’s “show time” services event today, it announced a new Apple Card credit card, promising to improve things about the credit card experience with simpler applications, no fees, lower interest rates, and better rewards. To get an Apple Card, users will be able to sign up on their iPhone in the Apple Wallet app and get a digital card that they can use anywhere Apple Pay is accepted “within minutes.” Customers will also be able to track purchases, check balances, and see when their bill is due right from the app. There will be a physical titanium card, too, but there’s no credit card number, CVV, expiration date, or signature. All of that authorization information is stored directly in the Apple Wallet app. Apple also says that it’ll use machine learning and Apple Maps to label stores that you use in the app, and use that data to track purchases across categories like “food and drink” or “shopping.” Instead of a points-based reward program, Apple Card gives cash

Samsung Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A60 images and specs leaked by TENAA

Samsung's revamped Galaxy A series already has five members, and it appears at least two more are on the way. The Galaxy A60 and  Galaxy A70   arrived on TENAA with images and basic specs. Both new phones will have triple-camera setups on the back - the A70 will have a fingerprint scanner underneath the screen, while the A60 will stand out with an Infinity-O display.     Samsung Galaxy A70 The Galaxy A70 will have a 6.7” screen with a waterdrop notch, or Infinity-U as Samsung likes to call these. The camera lineup on the back is not detailed yet, but odds are it will feature regular, ultra-wide, and depth sensor modules. The back panel seems to be some sort of gradient, but it could also be Gray with a pattern that reflects the light in fancy colors. We also know it will have a 4,400 mAh battery, which would make it the biggest power cell in a Galaxy A smartphone since the  Galaxy A9 Pro (2016) . Dimensions of the phone are 164.2 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm.     Samsung Galaxy

Pinterest files for IPO, but avoids calling itself a social network

The latest Silicon Valley company to  file for an initial public offering is Pinterest , the San Francisco-based social network and image board that in recent years has built a large advertising and commerce business from its growing user base. The company, although it is still not profitable, says it earned more than $750 million in revenue last year, and it’s cut its losses from nearly $200 million in 2016 down to just under $75 million annually. Pinterest says it was in fact profitable in the fourth quarter of 2018, but not profitable enough to get out of the red for the full calendar year. The company, headed up by original co-founder and CEO Ben Silbermann, plans to go public on the New York Stock Exchange. It joins  ride-hailing giants Uber and Lyft ,  on-demand delivery company Postmates ,  workplace communications platform Slack , and  hotel and short-term home rental service Airbnb  as one of the handful of Silicon Valley companies said to be planning an IPO this year

Will Google Finally Adopt Dual Cameras For The Pixel 4 Phones This Year?

The next  Google Pixel  might be getting more cameras and a sleek design overhaul. According to a  leaked photo posted on the site SlashLeaks  on Wednesday, the Pixel 4 XL will have two cameras on the back instead of the single one found on the Pixel 2 XL and 3 XL.  Famously  Google  has had only a single rear camera on every Pixel model large and small. The company embraced using AI and machine learning to create photos that rival phones with two rear cameras like the  iPhone XS  or three back cameras like the Huawei P20 Pro. A second camera could be used for something other than photography like perhaps AR. The drawings of the unreleased 4 XL also show an oval hole-punch display for two selfie cameras like on the new   Galaxy S10  Plus. Famously, the   Pixel 3   lacks a notch while the   Pixel 3 XL   has one of the largest found on any phone. Curious enough the drawing doesn't show a fingerprint reader on the back. This omission could indicate that the
