Samsung Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star Lite pricing revealed

Samsung semi-unveiled the Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star Lite a coupled of days ago and started accepting pre-orders. Except details on price and shipping were vague at best. Not any more - the two phones ship out on June 15. Here's what these phones are about and how much they cost.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Star
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Star shares many similarities with the A6+, but it’s not identical. For one, it has a larger 6.3” Super AMOLED screen with 1,080 x 2,220 px resolution (and no notch). And the design is noticeably different too.
The dual camera is tucked into the upper left corner of the back and the fingerprint reader is pulled up. The dual camera is a 16 MP + 24 MP setup where the secondary module is for low-light shooting. The 24 MP sensor uses pixel binning to combine four pixels into one. The camera records 4K video at 30 fps.

The Galaxy A9 Star is powered by the capable Snapdragon 660 chipset and comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage. It packs a relatively large 3,700 mAh battery (it’s bigger than the S9+ battery). And it boasts Dolby Atmos audio.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Lite looks much closer to the Galaxy A6+ (2018) - in fact, it’s basically identical. It has the same 6” Super AMOLED display with 1,080 2,220 px resolution. And it uses a lower-power Snapdragon 450 chipset instead, but with the same 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage.
It’s priced at CNY 2,000 ($310/€265) and comes in Night Sky Black and Dark Blue.

The camera setup features a 16 MP + 5 MP combo on the back, placed on the centerline with the fingerprint reader. There’s no 4K video capture this time around. The selfie camera remains at 24 MP and even gains an LED flash. The Galaxy A9 Star Lite has a 3,500 mAh battery and Dolby Atmos audio.

The authentication, once enabled, will be required for users to open the app. The Facebook-owned instant messaging service was recently reported to bring a similar feature to iPhone as well, supporting two biometric authentication methods - both Face ID and Touch ID. It appears this won't be limited to iPhone, and users on Android will get fingerprint authentication, but no facial recognition based authentication, thanks to the lack of a widely used standard on the platform. According to WABetaInfo, a fan site that tests new  WhatsApp  features early, the feature is current under development, and disabled by default in the...

Huawei Employee Reportedly Reveals Android P Name, And It’s Not What You Think

It’s that time of the year when the world speculates on which dessert will be used as the name for the next Android version. While there have been several easter eggs and hints about Android P’s official name, there’s no clarity on what it might actually be called. According a report by   Tabeltowo , a Huawei employee might have just leaked the full name of Android P as Android Pistachio. During a live chat with a customer, the Huawei support staff clearly said Android Pistachio in relation to a query about software updates in Poland, as seen in the image below: While simply Pistachio might not make sense to most people, considering the fact that Google is known for naming its Android version after desserts, a previous report might help. Back in February,  Bloomberg had reported  that Android P would be called Android Pistachio Ice Cream which makes more sense than just Pistachio. But we are sure you have other P-themed desserts in mind for...
