iPhone X Plus and Other Future Apple iPhones Might Get Dual SIM Support: Report

There are speculations that there may be a possibility of rolling out support for dual SIM in iPhone, initially at the software level. The evidence has been found on the screenshot of the iOS 12 developer Beta 5 run. The possibility of the dual SIM support may be provided to the plus models of iPhone in select regions across the globe. Also, it is rumoured that the feature may roll out as soon as in the same year itself (2018).

Dual SIM iPhone: iOS 12 Screenshot

Aforesaid screenshot carried the components that made the doubt stronger. Two commands, “second SIM tray status” and “second SIM tray status”, were found as new references in the generation of diagnostic reports. These components give the benefit of the doubt that they will be coming with the much-expected feature in the classiest device.  Also, there was another component that helped this speculation to build stronger. The reference made by the component was “dual sim device”.  These three components in the screenshot made sure that the coming device under the iPhone banner will be flaunting dual-SIM support, and it will be making a new statement in the history of Apple phones.

Advantages of Dual-SIM:

Once the feature is rolled out in the new device, the users can use two network carriers in the same device, without having to worry about SIM card swap. The hassle-free usage of two SIM cards and mobile number will be enabled through this new future addition to the iPhone device.
Asian and European mobile phone users are found to be routinely visiting many countries for various purposes. Through the dual SIM iPhone, they can easily use switch between both local and international mobile number. The 2017 reports of Device Atlas state that the dual SIM devices were more popular in countries such as Brazil, Egypt, and Nigeria. The statistics showed that the use of dual SIM device was much lower in the developed countries such as Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Upcoming Device Launches and Upgrades:

It is believed that the Apple will be launching three new devices this year. Among the three devices, one will be the proud successor of iPhone X that was launched last year. The newer variant will be coming with a 5.8-inch screen with an OLED display. Another device being prepared for the launch is believed to carry 6.1 inches LCD display screen. And, the most expensive among the three devices is said to flaunt a display of 6.5 inches along with an OLED screen. All three Apple devices are expected to look similar to the recently launched iPhone X, surrounded by thin bezels and a notch at the top of the screen.
Besides, it is also reported that around 350 Million users of iPhone are looking for an upgrade for their device across the globe. And, this is expected to be done in the next 12 or 18 months period. This could serve as a window of opportunity for the company; however, the company is completely concentrating on marketing their new products rather than upgrading the older products. The aforesaid statement was reported by the GBH Insights analyst Daniel Ives. He also strongly stated that the launch will be a huge success, provided the company provides an upgrade for the 350 million users expecting to update their older device.
