iPhone X Plus and Other Future Apple iPhones Might Get Dual SIM Support: Report

There are speculations that there may be a possibility of rolling out support for dual SIM in  iPhone , initially at the software level. The evidence has been found on the screenshot of the iOS 12 developer Beta 5 run. The possibility of the dual SIM support may be provided to the plus models of iPhone in select regions across the globe. Also, it is rumoured that the feature may roll out as soon as in the same year itself (2018).                        Dual SIM iPhone: iOS 12 Screenshot Aforesaid screenshot carried the components that made the doubt stronger. Two commands, “second SIM tray status” and “second SIM tray status”, were found as new references in the generation of diagnostic reports. These components give the benefit of the doubt that they will be coming with the much-expected feature in the classiest device.  Also, there was another component that helped this speculation to build stronger. The reference made by the component was “dual sim

Qualcomm unveils first mmWave 5G antennas for smartphones

The QTM052 antennas could make ultra-fast gigabit 5G a reality Photo: Qualcomm There’s a lot of pieces that need to come together to get 5G networks to work on mobile devices —  new standards need to be agreed on ,   new modems need to be developed6 , and new networking hardware for towers needs to be rolled out. But Qualcomm might have just cleared one of the major hurdles with the announcement of its new QTM052 mmWave antenna modules, the first that have been announced that will enable the high-speed swath of networking spectrum to work with mobile phones. That’s a big deal, because not all 5G is created equal. As Qualcomm’s own simulated test results from MWC earlier this year showed, users will already get big jumps in speed with lower-bandwidth 5G solutions, but the  truly  impressive leap forward will come from the mmWave network. Xiaomi Mi 8 SE 128 GB version arrives

Xiaomi announced the  Mi 8 SE  back in May and later the phone was launched with 64 GB storage and two RAM options - 4 GB or 6 GB. Now the company adds a third version to its Mi Store - one with 128 GB storage. The phone does not differ in any other way from the Mi 8 SE that  we just reviewed . It runs on Snapdragon 710 with octa-core CPU and boots Android Oreo. The screen is a 5.88” AMOLED panel with a notch on top that houses all the traditional sensors and comes with the basic Android Face Unlock feature (the high-end face-scanning tech is reserved for the  Mi 8 Explorer ). Initially, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE was no more than CNY1,999, but the new variant costs CNY2,299 or around than $380/€290. Sadly, it is offered only in Gray; none of the three other colors, including the sexy Pink from our review, are available at the moment. Source  |  Via

Smartphone world cup: Samsung Galaxy S9+ is our champion

Our Smartphone World Cup is over and it saw record participation. The final alone saw over 100,000 votes and not one but two changes in the lead. If this Cup taught us anything is that fan engagement is invaluable for the success of a phone. But first, congratulations go to the winner -  Samsung Galaxy S9+ . It won by a healthy margin, the final score was divided 58/42 in percentage terms, though it was pretty close for a while. Things changed day to day. The S9+ got the early lead and it seemed as it may cruise to victory. Yet, the  OnePlus 6  rallied its fans and with 48h remaining it was confidently in the lead. Then Samsung got its fans into the action and the Galaxy S9+ managed to swing things back in its favor. This was a proper World Cup, we received votes from all over the world – from as far east as New Zealand and to the western shores of the Americas. Win or lose, this bodes well for the global popularity of our two finalists. Still, there’s only one gold meda

Google is secretly working on Android's successor: Know everything about 'Fuchsia'

By Mark Bergen and Mark Gurman For more than two years, a small and stealthy group of engineers within  Google  has been working on software that they hope will eventually replace  Android , the world’s dominant mobile operating system. As the team grows, it will have to overcome some fierce internal debate about how the software will work. Google Chief Executive Officer  Sundar Pichai  has set his company in this direction -- toward  artificial intelligence  services that reach consumers everywhere. Yet its prime operating systems, which depend on scores of hardware partners, haven’t kept up. Here’s what’s already known about Fuchsia: Alph
